I recently heard someone say, “The clothes you’re wearing when you die will be the clothes your ghost will wear forever.” Though pessimistic, this seemed to ring true in a funny kind of way. It left a lasting impression on me, so I wrote it down and pinned it next to my workspace.
When we look in the mirror, we subconsciously scrutinize ourselves from head to toe. We are our worst critics. They say what we wear affects our mood. Perhaps this is because we know that if we look our best, we’ll feel our best, or we’d at least pretend to, and it would give us a boost in confidence. Even the slightest enhancement in our appearance can affect our mood in the moment and last for the day.
As you go about your day today, consider whether you’re being kind to yourself when you look in the mirror, regardless of what you look like, and whether you care what your ghost will hover around in. Does it it even matter? Ha!
